How come my battery is only showing a 97% charge even when plugged in? I have a brand new MBP.

    Thanks

calibrate it. Unplug the power. Pop in a DVD and let it play until the computer goes to sleep at 0%. Then plug it back in and hopefully it should go back to 100%.

Calibration usu. does the trick for me.

If you plug in your computer when the battery is at 93% or higher, it won't charge it. This helps prevent overcharging.

You should also calibrate your battery every month or two to ensure that it's capacity is being read correctly.

well, this thread had gave me a good sleep option, I was worried that, after the battery update, mine battery was a candidate to be replaced.... hopefully, it will be normal, now I plug it, below 85% and....everything is alright...

    love my MBP, good night!

After that battery update my battery dipped to 71 after calibration, and has climbed back up by itself to 89. So weird.

Before the update and calibration it was 93 give or take 2%.
