I think there will be some issues. Currently, cydia can store SHSH on 3G + IPT2 which is not ordinary. For me, I would avoid all update.

Just checked blog and twitter Musclenerd is around but hasb't giving a thumbs up or down.. Wait for him to say it's safe. it's your fault if you ever update before seeing a thumbs up from the Dev-team and I never trust it unless I see it with my own eyes! :D

It is for these young, impulsive ones.
Seems they just cannot wait to install every update.... sigh !

I know, unless you use iBooks or are having major problems whats the big deal
Never update soemthing that works fine is my rule ;););):cool::cool:

Just don't hold the toy the wrong way.

Small update...I did it...no issues...not sure why anyone but JB phones should be concerned to update iTunes.

So he is referring to fresh Spirit jailbreaks (as in the one which allowed 3.1.3 to be jailbroken)

That's what I understand. So you can upgrade to 9.2.1 and continue to use it with your Spirit-jailbroken phone, but if you need to re-jailbreak your phone at 3.1.3 using Spirit, you will have to downgrade iTunes.

After rereading the tweet, I agree that is what he is saying. Sounds like he tested 9.2.1 with the "new" @comex userland jailbreak, thus the distinction. :p
