Hi i have just installed windows vista ultimate and i ordered a graphics card to use in vista on a 1st generation mac pro. i have read about the graphics card and it requires two 6-pin PCI-E power connections. How will i do this and what power cables will i need?

What graphics card do you have in for OS X? If you only have the base card in, you can use the built-in power ports in the Mac Pro to take care of power for that card.

it has the 7300 GT but that doesn't need power from cables. So i don't really know where to even plug the cables in to get power.

There are two Molex receptors on the motherboard just behind the fan assembly at the back of the PCIe slot opening.

You'll need the appropriate cabling, but they're there.
