I know I have been posting a lot of threads about video cards in the past 2 months, but I think I am almost done. I saw on the web a 9800 XT for $220(not going to say where because then everyone will buy it)(It is slightely used). I saw a 9800 SE for $229 after mail in rebate of $50(Newegg). Which should I get? The XT is faster but takes up more than 1 slot. It's also cheaper. I am not sure whether I am going to use up all 3 PCI slots on my G5, but I take the risk? Please answer and I will stop annoying everybody.
Is the XT tiger core with all the Eye candy? If you find the XT for a lower price please tell. (lol) If you find the XT where I found it plz dont buy. I need it. Is 220 a good price for a XT? Wow lots of questions!
The 9800XT has all the updated shaders and the application inside the system prefs that the can customize graphic settings and rortate the screen? And does it require power directly from the computer? Or does it take the power from the AGP slot? If nobody want's to type it can someone please provide a link to a page of specs? I have been looking everywhere.
The benchmarks I've seen (at Barefeats) give a very slight edge to the XT over the SE. The only thing is that, from all I can tell, the XT was offered as a BTO option and isn't available (new, anyway, guess you are looking at a used one) as a stand alone purchase.
