Hi! I decided to start this thread do exchange some info about best config compared to default throttling .

MBP mid 2009 - 2,53GHz

Adapter
1596MHz -> 0,9250V
2128MHz -> 0,950V
2527MHz -> 1,050V

Battery
798MHz -> 0,9250V
1064MHz -> 0,9250V
1596MHz -> 0,9250V

Throttling Level = High

And I'd love to have the battery life of your 2009 MBP. Coolbook has been great for this old machine though (which, regardless, has served me well these past years).

Still playing around with my settings (mostly by reducing the steps and capping the battery at 1600mhz). Will update your thread when I've settled on something.

13" MBP July 2010 (cheapest one :)

798 MHz 0.8750 V
1596 MHz 0.8750 V
1995 MHz 0.8750 V
2128 MHz 0.9000 V

I understand that I'm not using max speed but I'll take less heat over the slight increase in speed that I don't need anyway.

Tested with CPUtest.app under settings: enormous, unlimited, 2 instances, for at least 10 minutes. Max temp I got sitting on my desk was 70 C. Completely stable. My usual temp is around 50 C and when I'm not using the computer it gets down to the low to mid 40's.

I have my throttling level at High in Coolbook.

I have to say Coolbook has worked fantastically for me since my max temp used to be around 82, 83 C. That's a 12 C drop!!!
 
The 1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo macbook air I bought for my wife (bought spring 2009) has been sluggish for well over a year. I'm about to give this program a shot and start trying out some of these settings. My memory is 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
 
They Still havent made a fix for i5/i7 Macbook Pros !!
tech companies told me my computer was future proof :cool:
obviously coolbook isnt :mad:

As soon as I downloaded I started it up and got some coolbook driver wouldn't load error so I wasn't able to start using it

Are you sure you are following the install instructions? It should work on that machine. If you cant get it to work, just send an email to the developer.

Thanks will try to restart, install again (or download again and install again) and then send e-mail to developer if need be
 
Hello,
Still fresh in undervolting (MBPro 5,1 Unibody) with CoolBook.
I can't get lower then 1596Mhz is it normal ?
I have tested at max speed (2660Mhz) with the 1.000v voltage - CPUTest and got 1 error after 14 minutes (test type: All, Repetitions: unlimited, instances: 2). Is it ok ?
Or should i go with 1.0125 which doesnt get any errors after over 1hr test with the same CPUTest settings ?
Is it better to have 2 (highest Mhz and lovest Mhz) settings or all from the menu in throttling (the same from highest Mhz to lowest Mhz but multiple) ?
