Anyone know a way around this?

I tried to use MobileMe but there were too many restrictions so I changed back to gmail. I tried iCloud again, but it still has this 99 rule limit and I don't see a way to concat rules. It pretty much makes iCloud mail useless for me.

Did you ever find a way around this? I just ran into it for the first time, and it's pretty much a dealbreaker for me too. I could live with it if they allowed "from contains" in their rule conditions, but they don't, so I've got to create new rules for every little variation in email address.

You need more than 99 rules? I'm going to take a guess that you are using rules to send spam messages from certain addresses to the trash or something like that. Have you considered combining multiple addresses into just one rule?

Even when I used gmail, I figured this made more sense than having a ton of rules with the exact some language but different addresses.

Not sure about the OP but I have around 100 rules with my business/personal email account (hosted on GoDaddy) and the rules are more powerful then with iCloud so I would need much more with iCloud. I would not be able to use iCloud for the same purpose because of the Rules limitation. I do use iCloud Mail for other much lighter use. An example of a rule of mine that can't be done with iCloud Rules (maybe with other system like gmail). All email that has "support@mycompany.com" in either the TO:, FROM: or CC: is placed in a support folder. I would need 3 rules to do that with iCloud but only 1 with the GoDaddy Rule System. Of course I do not need to do that with all 100 rules but I have a lot of cases where I need more then just 1 of the three.

This sounds like it would be good feedback to give to Apple.

That the rules are to simplistic and limiting.

A possible quick workaround to suggest is that a rule option for "address is in any of to/from/cc" that would take care of the above mentioned support mails.

No, I've never found a way around this. It's seriously limiting. Gmail is fantastic in this regard. I have around 20 rules that cover everything I need, but some of the rules are huge with maybe 40 or 50 emails addresss. It would probably take about 150 rules in iCloud mail to do the same thing for me.

Any anyway, with push email being blocked here in Germany, I don't see any point in me trying to sort this out. I will stick with gmail, it might not be as pretty but it's a lot more functional.
