nevermind it works! ordered 4. not to flip though. my mother, father, and brothers wanted one.
 
the markdown on the HP site had free shipping, this one will charge for that but since HP is sold out (for the time being), this is about as good an alternative as you get atm. thanks.

i'm pretty sure HP charges tax...can anyone confirm if that was the case or not.

Kind of freaked me out a bit because it says smartbuy instead of HP but in the description it says HP.

Ys HP charges tax. But if we wait for it to be in stock, we can use the 15% coupon through the education store, so it comes out to around $90 with tax in CA.
 
HP has been cancelling orders left and right though for orders made through their store (and they're sold out, too). I'll gladly spend an extra $10 to ensure that I save $400 🙂

Btw, the "Smartbuy" bit just means it's a business SKU#; the device itself is completely identical to the consumer SKU#.

True. I can now finally stop looking for one and continue studying for med school exam on my iPad. 😛

But for anyone who does want to save and gamble a bit, wait until monday when I am sure HP will have tons in stock.
 
keep trying just completed my order on the 16gb even after it said stock over.3 refreshes later its available and ordered 🙂

Just ordered a 32gb. Came to $169 with tax and shipping, but I learned I ha $48 in rewards points that I don't keep track of. Almost as good as the $30 coupon with HP that I wasted a lot of time trying to place an order with.

Not saying i'm going to do this because i'd feel like a scumbag, but do you see what their going for on Ebay 😕 apparently not many people know their being liquidated. I have an iPad and I still bought one. For $100 I couldn't resist.
 
Bought Hp touchpad for 99 dollars. Have to pay for shipping of 5.80 dollars.

You can definitely get it cheaper by going with HP with discount and it will come out to be around 90 dollars. But, they don't have it in stock. Even if they do restock, it will most likely be gone before I can even get there.

Seller has pretty decent ratings and since I bought it with AMEX. I get an extra year warranty with it.

I did hesitate it at first because I already have an iPad. What I really wanted was Galaxy Tab 10.1, but this thing costs 499 dollars.

I might sell this HP touch pad and use that money to my Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Decisions.

But, there are some bloggers who are writing about how HP touchpad is not even worth 100 dollars because HP will be stop supporting it.

True about HP stop supporting it, but at 99 dollars... this thing beats everyone including iPad.

Maybe this is what HP should be doing. Continue selling HP touchpad at 99 dollars and build decent user base.
 
Just bought one on Amazon for my Mom, she doesn't use apps - but she'll love it for web browsing, E-Mail and pictures!
 
In worst case of scenario....

And I mean worst because I can resell it for 100-200 dollars profit on craiglist and Ebay.


I will use it as a picture frame.

I am really hesitant to buy anymore tablets at this point because there are a lot of reports that are indicating that next iPad will have a retina display. That's a must buy for me. My touchpad will be sold by around March-April to make a room for iPad. I am sure touchPad will hold a good resale value until then.

I am not interested in anymore other tablets by android because Tegra 2 chips suck compare to A5 chips.

Tegra 3 and retina display are needed.

NOte: This thing is going for minimum 250 dollars on craiglist. Minimum...

Most of prices are in 280-300 dollars and it goes up as high as 350 dollars. WTF...
