I thought this was a joke . But I searched and found out that 999$ stand is real . What can I say Apple has become too greedy after Steve job

I'm not buying a $5K "pro" monitor, so I don't need to worry about a $1K monitor stand.

Next?

I am not buying either . But I am worried about the way Apple is heading . It used to be industry leader in innovation and aesthetics . But now it has become symbol of greed

XDR display is bleeding edge in both innovation and aesthetics.
You're not the target market.
The target market is people that will have their investment returned in 3 and a half weeks instead of 3 weeks due to the display.
(and probably have existing VESA stands anyway)

If you want the best and the newest, it’s gonna cost ya. I use safari and mail mostly and I’ll get one just because I can and it’ll be awesome. :)

The Stand should have been free with the monitor itself

Frankly i don't care, if I had any reasonable budget for a 4999$ display that can only be driven by a baseline 4999$ computer (so 9998$ entry price), I'd splurge for the 199$ VESA mount and wouldn't miss a beat.

You're comparing the $5k display to a regular off the shelf consumer display like a dell that you can get for $400. Of course that seems expensive because its like comparing a skateboard to a motorcycle. If you compare this to a professional (meaning something a movie set or movie editing house uses) its actually underpriced for what it offers. This is NOT a monitor for you to watch netflix or youtube or web browsing. This is primarily aimed at VIDEO production professionals, meaning someone that does this for a living.
