Theres been a lot of talk about what is better (or the same) about the new screen in the 15" MBP, but I havent seen any real comparison between the 2 like there has been with the 13". Has there been a thorough comparison between the 2 that shows the differences?
My 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2008) has the 9C85 panel and it trumps my 13" MacBook Pro's 9CA0 panel. The 9C85 is seriously a very, very good panel.
I went to the Apple Store recently to check out the new MBPs. I actually thought my pre-WWDC 9C84 screen was better than the new ones?... This is weird.
I thought all the new Unibody MacBook Pro have the new screen that has higher color gamut after the update right? Previously, this was reserved only for the 17' model..
I've read several comments from people who have bought the new 15" MacBook Pro's (Mid 2009) only to discover the screens don't look as good as the Late 2008 models. I know I would be upset.
I had a 9C85 in my previous 15". My new 15" 9CA3 is very nice. I can't tell a huge difference between the two but both are way ahead of any previous Mac laptops I have used. I didn't use a proper color profile on the 9C85 but I am using one on the 9CA3 and the colors are incredible now.
how to calibrate the screen ? how did you calibrate your screen ? i have 9c85 and its on default setting, how do i calibrate to get best results ? any help would be appriciated
I have both computers sitting in front of me and there is a pretty big difference between the screens. My Late 2008 model with the 9C85 screen has a darker, brownish tone to it and the colors are not as accurate as the Mid 2009 9CA3 models. I cannot believe how much better the colors look and the brightness alone won me over. In my opinion the 9CA3 model is a much much better screen. I took a picture and I am posting it in a few, you probably won't notice from the picture, but in person it is another story.
Late 2008 MacBook Pro on the left and Mid June 2009 MacBook Pro on the right. Although in the picture the left screen looks brighter, it is actually dimmer and the pictures are more washed out.
