I got my iP4 over two months ago on launch day. It's a week 22 unit.

I have never once experienced an issue. Go, Go magical unicorn iP4!:p

LOL - the purpose of your thread is what? to brag? to annoy the people in this thread that do have a problem? Or something else? What exactly was the purpose?

My phone is horrible with the proximity issue, just about every call is affected. I did trade it for another a while back and it wasn't any better.

I ended up getting the app Call Guard and set it up with Activator to launch by pressing Vol down/up when I start a call, it's the only way I can have a normal conversation. It's actually funny because the Call Guard will show you how many unwanted touches you would have made had the app not been on. One call I had 24 unwanted touches as I talked on the phone and walked around downtown looking around.

Thread?

My post was the Ying the the proximity sensor Yang.;)

I wouldn't put much stock in this article. I'm running iOS 4.1 beta 3 and have not had a recurrence of the "proximity sensor issue" in quite a while.

thats what I wanted to know and thats why I posted this story. today is the last day of my 30 Day Return Window Period and I'm on the fence of wether I should return my phone and wait for a future update to fix the issue or if I should keep my phone and hope Steve Jobs says on Wednesday that the 4.1 update will fix the issue.

I was hoping that people with the 4.1 beta can post their result and give their point of view, so thank you Darth.Titan.

You can call for an RMA # so your window doesn't pass you by, and then if 4.1 comes out and fixes the issue, you can still choose not to return it- this is what I did, as told to me by the Apple rep.

I've never heard of an RMA# (I just did a quick google search), does that only Apply to online purchases (because I bought my iPhone in-store)

it sucks that today is the last day of the 30 days and wednesday is the big event.

Well, that's my mistake- I don't think Apple calls it an RMA#. I called them to return on the last day (with a bit of hesitancy of course), and the rep told me that AT&T might hassle me and that if I changed my mind, I could always just not send it back in. I think the Fedex shipping label they send you expires in two weeks or something like that.

So you could way until Sept. 1st to find out if you want...

Has anyone else had this experience?

I got mine a couple of days ago and so far knock on wood I have not had any of these problems with it. Reception has also been good so far (knock on wood). These were the two problems I was afraid of having when I ordered this Iphone 4 but luckily no problems so far.

Don't go on believing something you've read as gospel.
Watch
I heard that some douche on the other side of this ball of dirt said that Apple HAS fixed the proximity sensor and it will be out with the next release of iOS.

See, you can have both sides saying this or that. Doesn't matter much. How about, before we jump into the deep end of the pool, we let the facts come out. Lets see what actually is released by Apple, and not what someone says, before we form an opinion. YOu know..both sides of the story so to speak.

Have you had your HIV cocktail yet?

Sheesh

I assume Activator is installed by jb? If so, too bad as I am trying to avoid this.
