A 2009 iMac as a display only possible or not?

I own a 2009 iMac it is a core 2 duo 3.06Ghz works fine.

A perfect 27 inch picture. All pixels good and no yellow. Can this hook up to my 2010 mac pro and run as monitor only with a minidisplay wire?

I have a 2010 mac pro with the better graphics card the 5870.

I could take it off its wall mount and grab a new 2011 iMac (refurb) to wall mount. Or is the 2010 imac the only one that can be monitor only with mini display? TIA phil

It has Mini DisplayPort which support input so yes, it can.

I have this one with the one upgrade of an HD4770 card. As a monitor that card will not get used the mac pro's 5870 card will be used.
