I use dual thunderbolt displays daily. While I like the resolution, it is a little small for my eyes. I would prefer the resolution of the TBD instead in a 30". If I had to do it again, I would consider dual 30" or dual 24" but probably skip the dual 27".

Okay, these are the two situations I'm thinking of

Here are two 23'' HP displays.

And here is one 27'' display.

Virtually the same price, but two for the price of one or one big one for the price of two?

Do NOT buy the 27" one you linked to. It will not give you any more "desktop space" than the 23" because it is only 1080P. In fact, anything you do on that 27" will look like garbage because the pixels are so big. There is a big difference in 27" displays. Some are 2560 x 1440 and others are 1920 x 1080. You do not want the latter. Unfortunately the former is much more expensive.

Buy the 2 - 23's if those are what you are looking at.

Agreed! There is a reason that one 27" monitor is so cheap. It's because it is garbage.

Hello! :)

I have HP ZR30w (2560x1600 @ 60Hz native resolution) and am wondering if Mac mini (2012) equipped with quad-core Intel Core i7 CPU is powerful enough to properly (no perceptible lug on Blu-Ray movies, e.g.) drive it...

The 2009 C2D Mini with 9400M already deals with that, although there might be some crappy software to avoid.

I prefer a big one any time. 30 inch I like best, but I have to say, 1920x1200 at 24-26 inch is still one of the best resolutions to work on. It is a perfect trade off between room for tools and windows, the readability and the mouseability of your screen.

If it's a little small for your eyes, why would you consider dual 24"'s?

I use a single 30" ACD and I think that is too big, I would prefer dual screens like I use at work(20's) but something like 24" would be awesome.

Problem is, there are no 24" thunderbolt screens that I know off, I would like to chain them.

Does any one use two monitors that are different sizes, like a 24" and a 19"?

I can see the advantages of the horizontal workspace, but I only need it once a week or so, when I right a Word document. It's be nice to have the document on one monitor and the references on the other.

I have a 21.5 iMac and was running a 19" as a second monitor. It worked well for a while. The difference in size wasn't the problem, it was the difference in resolution. I now have the iMac and a 24" Dell as the second monitor, both running 1080p.

Okay, okay. Sheesh. I won't buy it.:D

I think the dual display set up will be coo. I already have a 19'' monitor I can add to the bunch. So...

I just hope.....

The base Mini (2012) can handle it.

The Mini can only hand 2 non-TB monitors as far as I know, one on the HDMI port and one on the TB/MiniDisplayPort port. You can daisychain two TB monitors but I don't think you can daisychain non-TB monitors off the TB port with adapters.
