One thing I notice, haven't seen too much on this, is that my iPhone lists open safari pages from my unsupported 2007 iMac. However, I do not have the lower left icon on my lock screen, so is this something other than handoff? Otherwise, how is that possible for them to "talk" if the iMac is not handoff capable. And only talk one way.

Beyond me why this wasn't built for Wifi. Frustrating as a long term Apple customer. But I'm not planning on upgrading the chip for a novel feature, I'll wait and see if dongles become supported thru a hack.

Those tabs are iCloud tabs and don't require handoff. I think that feature has been around since iOS 7.
 
Thanks for the correction, I'm pretty sure I never logged in to iCloud from my mac before this, so to me it seemed new but I guess it isn't
