Long story short, I have somehow damaged my main external HardDrive by removing it prematurely while my MacBook was shutting down, but luckly i backed it up that same day. I have tried some basic repairs with no success I will try a few more things later.
due to this I will like to add some more redundancy to my setup.
My questions are
1. I plan on adding a dual HardDrive setup in my MBP with one being a SSD for my apps and a 500gb or 750gb for storage.
Is it worth me spending the money to upgrade my current 750gb 5400rpm HD to a 500gb 7200rpm HD?
Will I notice a significant difference between the two considering it will only be used or storage?

It'll help with seek times a little but transfer times won't massively be effected. The added heat is also a factor to watch as well as the added battery consumption.

Thanks for the fast reply.
If it matters, I do video production. I work mostly with dslr footage and I edit with premiere and after effects.
