So... I figure I'll make this my go-to help thread for anything I guess small and pertaining to my being a mac noob. It's better I think than flooding the forum with separate threads.

1)
So first I tried to put all the music from my phone onto my Mac by adding the folder with the music to the itunes music folder and it works for like a minute before it says such and such file cant be read, error 6, aborting- basically. and then the whole song transfer process stops and i cant get any songs. So I tried again and it keeps doing this (but with different songs). Like one song it popped up as an error for is in my library now, obviously all the files are fine and intact.

2)
On a similar topic while it was transferring I would walk away to come back to a black screen cause it went into power saving sleep mode or whatever, so I click a button and the screen comes on. And it pops up a message with a red x saying you disconnected your device without ejecting, this can damage it (and of the course my phone with its micro sd card is still physically connected, but it doesnt register it now). Is this the sort of thing where once it hits sleep mode itll like not realize the device is there?

3)
I set up my laptop when I got it so I need to put in my password like anytime I start up the laptop or the screen goes black after 30 seconds and I use it again which gets annoying fast. Is there a real easy fix to this?

Thank you in advance. There's just a bit of a learning curve coming from PCs which I never even understood at any mediocre level till recently anyway xD

Well I used the same program (DoubleTwist) that I used to get all my music onto my phone to get the music on this computer (it serves as a music player too) but it says some files cant be found, even if theyre working fine on another player -_- I've never had a problem with files transferring from device to device through whatever mean until now with this Mac.
