This is a device driver for support with the new iOS and devices. It used to be a pop up like this but never showed the file size.

I saw this thread, so I checked for a software update and, lo and behold, this update was there.

I experienced a bunch of kernel panics immediately after install this latest incremental update on my M1 MacBook Air. Unplugged all external drives, hub, etc, and restarted. So far ok. Hopefully just one of those odd glitches that will be resolved.
