Yep, I finally got it. Last Thursday, actually, but I wasn't home until two days ago.

Virtually done with manually porting my files and setup, but there are a few things with which I'm still having trouble.

iTunesesque Illuminous scroll bars (using the Extras2.rsrc file): I can't get this to apply.

Windows 7 64-bit audio drivers: Anyone know which ones are correct?

I'll probably think of some more.

Here's a preliminary Flickr photostream. It isn't in its proper location right now; this is just a temporary setup.

Let me know what you guys think!

To those who want to ask: Yes, OS X natively recognizes both Blu-ray and HD DVD disks (and labels them as such), empty and with content, but cannot play the files.

And yes, the stock 4870 and GT 120 run at 5 GT/s. Did you guys (flashers) ever figure out why third-party ones only run at PCIe 1.1 speeds?

My Mac Pro on the table we set up next to my family's iMac. When you have this much power at your disposal, it's okay to have a lace tablecloth. I don't really want to scratch anything, either.

Haha, that's a pretty sweet setup TS, looks nice, in terms of 7 audio drivers, go into audio in about this mac, it should say Intel High Def Audio, chances are you can install Realtek AC97 audio drivers, and it should work, I'm not 100% though, that's the route I took with my MBP and everything works.

Congrats man.
It's been a long time coming hahaha. Let us know how the 120 and the 4870 work in tandem, eh?
I'm also curious how well the MM works on that surface.

The Gainestown designation in Skil's sig would indicate an Octo core. The quad-core models use Bloomfield chips. :)

Ah ok. didnt know they were diff chips. i knew they were diff motherboards.

Skil, whats the fan noise like on the 4870?

The 4870 and GT 120 work beautifully in OS X. The left monitor is the GT 120 and the right is the 4870. In Windows 7, I've had some wigging out when playing fullscreen games, but nothing major.

About the Mighty Mouse, I'm not noticing anything adverse. The table is a light yellow glossy metal and the tablecloth is white lace (so you'd think there would be problems), but it works fine. I have tracking turned almost all the way up, and if anything it tracks just slightly slower than I believe it should, but it's not a big deal at all.

Dual 24" monitors, if anyone was curious. I just realized that I didn't specify size.

About the fan noise, I haven't really done what you'd call "pushing it" (most strenuous being probably Half-Life 2: Episode 2 turned up all the way), but the loudest part of the computer has so far been the hard drive.

Very nice!

I see you went the non-Apple Display route. Probably the best choice right now since Apple isn't giving us much in the way of choices.

They're M-VA.

Even worse! (No, not the MVA vs. TN part)
They're actually using different panels with the same make and model?!
UGH!

Bit of digging shows forum threads saying that's in fact what they do :(
Evil! Evil! EEEEEEEVIL!

Grabbed a LG TN the other day to see if it would suffice for my needs..
It's going back after the easter weekend.

Enjoy your quite-a-few-notches better screens though! :)

They're M-VA.

Still prefer the S-IPS's :p

Actually wouldn't mind upgrading to a couple ColorEdge CG301W once i got the cash, think they'll look fantastic on my wall!!

Feast your eyes on this...

 And your wallet won't burst into flames, right?

16-bit internal processing?! 97% Adobe RGB colour-space?! *drools*

But on your wall UltraNEO? I know displaying wealth is nice, but isn't your desk where you do work :D

It's kind of funny, after following the "what we know" thread I feel this sense of closure now that you finally got your machine.

It looks awesome and I am jealous.

A Dream Realized

Congratulations! Hasn't it been a long wait? :)

You could install iLeopard instead, unless you just want the scroll bars to be iTunes 7 style.

I can't remember, but I think there were 2 versions of the file, one for PPC and one for Intel?

You finally got it. I've been reading your signature for well over a year now talking about your 'dream' machine. :p

Spore sometimes has issues rendering things - usually it should load after a bit though.
