OK I am 4 Negras in for the evening and this is not what I was expecting from the title. 🙄
The sensors look like round, white cardboard circles about 3mm across. When activated they turn bright pink or purple and become thicker. They will react based on humidity, but the color becomes darker based on the amount of moisture. I had a Razr (1st gen) that died, they very carefully tip toed around asking in a very casual way if I had been to the shore lately......Once I mentioned that I had been commuting to Puerto Rico there was an Ah-haaa moment and all was explained. I did get the phone replaced without question at that point.
