Hey guys! This is my first post on the site! Anyway, I have about 3 dead pixels on my 13" MacBook 2.16 GHz. My computer is still under Applecare, would Apple replace the display for free?

Welcome to the forums..
Your best bet would be to call Apple or go there. We cant really say anything for sure.
Good Luck

Seeing how it's a 2.16ghz, it's an older model.

Have they been there all along? I'd wager Apple is going to be hesitant to replace the panel, just because dead pixels can be caused by poking/impacts to the panel, and on a computer that's a couple years old, they'll figure that's been the case.

Good luck to you though!

I have this problem again. Those three dead pixels somehow vanished, but now one vertical line of pixels are always green. It doesn't change when I reboot or anything, in every application, it is always green. Below is a picture of my screen with a completely black image so it is easy to see. Is there anything I could do to fix this, or would i have to contact Apple. I have Apple care, would they fix this problem for free?

Usually AC will take care of it if it's over 3-5 pixels, but this is an older laptop so it depends. Worth a try though!

Thanks for the replies. I'll try to get it done over winter break (I can't be without my computer during the school semester). By the way, that green line has now turned into an Aqua/Turquoise like Blue. I'll assume red is next. 😉😛
