Looks great!

Have a few questions for you...

How "perfect" is the pre-cut? For example the area around the trackpad? I noticed with invisible shield, its actually like 3 separate pieces that they use to cover that area, with the bestskinsever is it one piece? and then a separate piece to cover the trackpad button?

Also how well are the corners being covered?

the trackpad covers are covered very well and they also come in three separate pieces. there's only like a 1mm border around the trackpad that isn't covered by the shield. other than that, everything is fully protected.

the actual corners on the lower part of the laptop aren't covered because I think it would be hard to get the material to fully surround the corners. instead, they have the corner part slit in two so you can pretty much fold the two parts together to have them meet as close as possible to the corners themselves.

Is the skin thick at all or is it like a screen protector? Also what speakers are those in the third picture they are nice.

it's some pretty think stuff that kind of has a rubbery feel to it.

by the way, my speakers are the Bose Companion 5 series sets. they're pricey but they sound awesome. the subwoofer that comes with the set hits some pretty good base all things considered.

* about a two week later update *

so far I am really liking my BSE cover(s) for my MBP. it's so nice being able to handle my laptop w/o getting all those grubby fingerprint smudge marks that quite often happen when one handles his/her MBP. none of the corners have started to peel either like I've heard some people say happens with these covers. I would imagine that could have to do with how good or bad the laptop is treated.

this was definitely well worth the $$$.

can u post close ups of the corners and connections and stuff. i want to the detail of the skin. the website doesnt really cover or show much.

I got Old for New laptop insurance.
Means if i trash my MBP via a Nasty fall, gets run over by some konb, i'll get a brand new replacement, that's better than any body armour available!! :)

I'm sold.
I was just looking for exactly a product like this, I will look around some more, but will probably order it sometime during the week.

could i ask what you think of that logitech mouse???? I need a wireless mouse and was put off by the wireless mighty mouse a) because of the bal clogging up and b) it uses bluetooth which apparently isn't that good for a mouse. I like the look of that logitech one because of the small receiver but is it too small for day to day use and just a travel mouse or is it a decent size still??

thanks

could you take, if possible, more pics of the mbp with the bse armor?
I am definitely looking to order this.

another thing, any tips on the application process? errors or little mistakes that can easily be avoided?

Brilliant work. Can I hire you to apply the skins to my new (still shiny and scratch-free) MBP? :D

But seriously, thanks for the tip. I've been looking for the possibilities of protecting the beauty :)

How hard (or easy) is it to avoid getting bits of dust or suchlike sealed between the computer and the skin during this process. It would be annoying to see a stray hair or fleck of grit "permanently" sealed in there, when normally it would be brushed off or blown away with no trouble at all.

+1 on Invisible Shield

I put the Invisible Shield on my new Penryn 15 inch Macbook Pro. I felt pretty good about putting it on after doing several ipods and iphones. The secret is it make sure you use plenty of the spray and thoroughly cover it that way it goes on easy and you can slide it into the perfect location.

I took my time with mine and got it on "perfectly". I am pretty anal about this kind of stuff and i am very happy with how it came out. The only think i didnt like/use was the track pad, and track button cover. The invisible shield film gives it a weird texture and doesnt feel right under my fingers. For these two items i ordered a skin from SkinStylers. I ordered a black trackpad/track button cover which looks really good with my black Macally Leather Bookshellpro. I feel really good abou this combination. Not only does it look really good and clean, but i feel it is fully protected from any minor dings or scratches.

I just have to say you did a superb job. It's looks perfect.

I might get this myself.

EDIT: Looks like they don't sell this for the 17" =(

I just ordered the InvisibleShield for my MBP and the battery which ends up 3x more $$$.

I just put the BSE full skin application on my 15" Penryn MBP, and although I love the way it looks and feels (and don't have to worry about scratches), I'm a little bit concerned about the heat. Right now I've been running firefox, mail, ichat, and itunes for a few hours, and my CPU temp is at 53 deg C. I had a Merom MBP without the skin, and it definitely ran and felt cooler than my current MBP.

Given the wide variability in temperatures that i've seen with other people's MBPs though, I'm not too sure if I can attribute the temperature increase to the BSE. If it is though, I'm stripping the skin off my MBP.

could it still look sharp if I don't use the bottom cover? just to help dissipate the heat a bit better...
