hi all, got my mbp end of september 06, ive had a few problems with it for a few months, but while i was at university, i needed to use it everyday.
    the line of letters A S D F G H J K L doesnt work, but CAPS LOCK, ; ' \ and enter all do.
when i close the lid on my mbp it doesnt go to sleep
alot of th time it doesnt recognise dvds
and 1 screw on the right hand side keeps coming loose.
also where the open lid button is, the casing is starting to "peel" and come off.
i cant really go without a computer for a few days, will apple replace my mbp? i have 3 yr warranty. if they repair it, instead of giving me a new 1, is there any chance they can lend me a laptop for the time i wont have a laptop.
also do people suggest i visit my local apple store a few minutes away, or ring apple?
of course id like a new 1, but i dont know if they will, and apart from these problems, im happy with th speed of my mbp.
1 last thing, i orginally had 2gb of ram im my laptop, if they decide to repair it over giving me a new 1, shall i take th 2gb out, and put my 1gb(2x512) back in?
these problems really are annoying me now, and i would like to use my laptop without having to us an external keyboard everyday

cheers for any replies i get

I would take it down to the Genius Bar at your local Apple store anyway to see what they have to say. In all likelihood they'll recommend you send it in to have it repaired. Unfortunately Apple doesn't have a "loaner" program to tide you over until your computer comes back. It could be anywhere to a few days to a few weeks before you would get your MBP back; depending largely on whether Apple has the parts in stock to perform the repairs.
