I've got a Mac Book that I purchased in December 2006. I want to get a larger HDD, but I'm unsure of a couple of things.

1. How do I know which model I have so I get the proper HDD?
2. I partitioned the HDD with VM Fusion. Will the partition automatically be reinstalled onto the new HDD?
3. Any recommendations on the brand of HDD to use?

Thanks.

1. You want a 2.5 inch SATA HDD
2. No, you'll have to repartition it yourself
3. Most people recommend Seagate or Western Digital, but other big brands, e.g. Hitachi and Samsung, are good too. You'll mostly want to decide what size and speed you want.

Go with a 7200rpm 320GB-good bang for the buck and definitely speeds
things up. WD or Seagate.

I see WD has one with a Free Fall Sensor, and one without. Any real difference in the two?

Get the one without because your MacBook already has one and the 2 would conflict.
