Can the Apple Watch now be used without carrying round an iPhone? I watched the keynote but am still unsure. I'd like to use the watch when I go on walks but leave my 6S at home. Is this possible?

Also does the Apple Watch support the app myfitnesspal? I'd like to use it to track footsteps like I do on my 6S.

Lastly, will the new Series 2 support a 6S running on 9.3.5?

It has GPS so it should be able to accurately track your outdoor exercises. Myfitnesspal has watch app, not sure what functionality it has. Seems to have some kind of step counter at least. watchOS 3 requires iOS 10 so you need to update your phone.
