A few questions regarding Apple TV

Hi all,

Considering buying Apple TV. Just wondering, can you watch your own videos on it or do they have to be from iTunes? I have some DVD's in the cupboard which I like to watch thats all. Would you need to rip them to the computer or stream them if you can?
 
You can rip the DVDs with Handbrake or something like it you can then import it into iTunes and play them on the ATV.
