Recently, I have acquired an iPhone 3GS, and like all my other ipods, I jailbroke it (and unlocked it). The thing is, is that it says this iPhones carrier is Vodafone UK 12.0 even though I removed the SIM card, and I currently live in Canada. Here's where the questions begin:

    1. I currently have a slide phone with no SIM card; if I go to my carrier and request a SIM card with my plan on it, will they give/sell it to me or will I need to buy a new plan for this phone?

    2. Do they care if it's an unlocked phone?

    3. Since this phone is from the UK apparently, will it be compatible with a SIM card from Canada? And will it get service etc?

    Thanks.

We cannot speak for your carrier, ask them your question

Does who care if it is unlocked ? It is your phone, you can get it unlocked either by the carrier who sold it or find a grey market vendor.

The phone must be unlocked to use sims from other carriers.
