Simple answer: Don't get "Centrino". Get one of the number of Pentium-M laptops that have both.

Along with my 12" Powerbook I also have a Dell Latitude D800 (the one Steve Jobs says looks like a whale compared to the 17", though I disagree.. the 17" is flatter, sure, but still bigger!). The D800 is a Pentium-M machine and has both Firewire and 802.11g. Oh, and gigabit ethernet and bluetooth. And a DVD burner. So what if I don't get a little pretty "Centrino" sticker on it.

Battery life is easily 4 hours (I played the full Lord of the Rings movie on battery power with 17% left), and the screen is a beauty at 1920x1200.

It's simply the best Windows laptop I've ever owned.

...and probably within a year or two will be replaced by a G5 Powerbook. ;)
