It has always seemed weird to me that Apple did not put a little icon on the top row for when Location Services is activated. I mean on the top row it tells you when 3G is on, Edge, bluetooth, wifi...why not Location Services? Like maybe that little crosshairs icon that they use for find me in maps.

It's gets a little annoying because after I turn Location Services on for whatever reason, I might forget that I have it on, and then to check I have to going into Settings. And since keeping it on all the time drains the batt I don't want to just leave it on.

I'd be nice to just look up and see that it's on...

Anyone thoughts?

I don't think Location Services is really much of a battery drainer. It's only when you actually use it, like in Maps, that you start to drain the battery. But just having the service on, not so much.
