I'll reserve judgement for when I use it, although it seemed to go down like a lead ballon when it was shown at the keynote, hopefully it's better

There’s one huge bold reason to hate it. The font takes up too much of the screen. Everything is blown up to the point that it takes a lot more scrolling to find things.

I didn't like it at first but I do like that there's more of emphasis on app discovery with tips and how to's. I don't really go into the current app store as much because there's just too much going on. I see new apps each week and I don't know where to start if I want to find something useful. Also completely off topic but I was unaware that iPhones would work on Project Fi..

I do like how they separated the games, application of the day, etc. I think it's going to make it work accessible and not as polluted as it was before.

It would be nice to have an option to block in any updating to an app when the developers get greedy and make an update that switches from a one-time pay model to an ongoing subscription model that blocks your previous access until you pay for what you already paid for.

Most things seem to backward nowadays - can't use 32-bit apps, no headphone jack, no magsafe etc. etc. - but this looks like an improvement

How is not being able to use 32-bit apps in 2017 going "backwards"? It's the polar opposite of going backwards..

The new App Store looks and feels better compared to the previous one. Search seems to be working better and everything. But people keep on complaining like always, and I bet most who complain haven't even used it and it's not even finalised yet...

But this auto-playing video thing has to go. It's so ironic how Apple is battling auto-playing videos in Safari and even makes a deal out of it during the keynote and at the same time they introduce auto-playing videos in the new App Store. Really? Yeah it doesn't feature audio by default, but come on. There is no need for auto-playing videos, period.

It's called a continued revenue stream, absolutely necessary, not greed. You're greedy for expecting a developer to keep cloud services running after they're done with your one-time sale. They have to pay recurring fees to host the app on servers, so they pass the fee onto you. Welcome to cloud computing: it's great but not cheap.

I am yet to try it for myself, but I can already tell that Im unlikely to like it. Id rather see as many potential apps on screen as possible, not big pictures and write ups taking up the entire screen. Also, someone has to spend time creating all that fancy content which in my opinion just gets in the way of downloading apps. Seems like an unnecessary waste of effort.

My opinions:
1) it looks a lot better. it's actually quite great. and this is coming from someone who is heavily critical of modern/flat/"web 3.0" designs.
2) it's clearly heavily "inspired" by Metro (and Holo Light, which iOS 7 was already heavily "inspired" by).
3) although I usually dislike low information density, I think this is actually well done.
4) despite that, navigation is clearly inefficient - "scrolling hell" as someone here put it.

I'm hoping for such sensible redesigns for Apple Music.

Nice to have a separated tab for apps and games. These days 90% off the app store is games, making it hard to find good apps.

1.) Apple has a complete Stranglehold on App Discovery !
2.) The iOS App search & rankings structure is completely broken !
3.) ~85% of those who browse the iOS App Store looking for apps are extremely Young and extremely Dumb.
4.) Apple does extremely little to help raise the educational bar (case in point, LiveColor / Wide Color / Vivid Color).
Only under NEW Leadership will those issues get fixed !
iTunes "window dressing" on the existing iOS App Store won't solve anything !
Kim Yong Phil (the guy in his khaki shirts with his absolutist opinions...) was to restructure the Store in order to improve new developers' findability.
So what did he do over the last 2,3 years ?
He got the store renewed by outsourcing its redesign, made sponsored content that shows higher up in search rankings.
Essentially nothing, actually he degraded the exposure for newcomers.

New app store looks good, but apple it turning it into something its really not...

It was a place to and get apps from........ i guess reading about the origins of an app are good all in 'one-place' but would that be a hit ? DUnno...... but people just wanna buy apps and comment.... ithe App store is turning into an "apple music style" which makes more sense to read and follow artists etc. If you wanna follow app developers and read more u would open a web browser.

All I wanted was a way to sort your uninstalled apps by date which they were updated. That's all.

A way to list apps in the purchased tab alphabetically, but i guess Apple didn't do that on purpose, because u can just search for it. I won't be heading to iOS 11 anytime soon, unless 27 of my 31 apps all get updated.

Yea! Another app redesign like Hulu that shows less information on the screen requiring more scrolling and more clicks to get the same info that the old app showed. Where are these people learning UI design these days?

This is precisely what was needed. Most people actually use very few apps, so the Today feature is critical in giving people a reason to return to the store. There was also very little context for each app. An icon and a name was usually not enough incentive for me to click through and find out more. The features created by editors were crucial in this. I had imagined app "celebrities" to editorialize (like Zane Lowe, et al with Apple Music) so we could get app recommendations from people we trust, but this will do well enough. The separation of Games and Apps will finally allow more apps to shine through the overwhelming presence of gaming on iOS. Solid update and I'm looking forward to having apps sell me on their utility through multiple videos and more magazine style descriptions.
