Motion blur is caused by having too slow a shutter speed for a particular subject.

Another way to state this is to say that the camera has too small of an aperture for the situation being photographed.

There's a reason why virtually any point-and-shoot, and all higher end point-and-shoots and DSLRs have *much* larger lens openings than a cameraphone. It's so they can collect enough light to use faster shutter speeds in most situations.

Almost no cameraphone comes close to a cheap point-and-shoot in this regard, and when you compare a cameraphone to a nice compact point-and-shoot like a Canon S90 it's laughable.

If you want good candids, carry a camera, not a phone.
