Bad luck. Call to the store and speak with sales manager or her supervisor, they can do something for it. Sometimes people just have bad days or didn't sleep enough. Apple employees are regular people, no robots :)
Write a letter to the attention of the store manager with as much detail as you can provide, and then send a CC to "Customer Service" at 1 Infinite Loop. I did this a few years ago when an Idiot Bar employee insisted on keeping my iMac for over a week and wanting to do a full software archive/install for what was obviously a broken DVD drive. I wound up getting a 1GB iPod Shuffle out of the affair, which I gave to my partner who had the original idea of CCing Apple in Cupertino.

when ever I buy anything technical, I do my homework, I learnt over the years that sales people are regular people, and for them to understand technical material when they never really been technical (Geek) minded.

Jeez old thread... but really - no need to get out your pram mate.

We've all said something wrong by accident, realized it and then dug ourselves deeper and deeper by tryimg to explain it as fact.

Not half as bad as the time I went in to my local store in order to be 'convinced' I needed a mini over an atv, only to have the sales guy drag me over to an imac, the internet, brought up a thirdparty site and proceeded to sell me on a lacie cinema thing... After all... [he said] it'll play all your files *wink* all. your. files.

Im not smart enough to have asian text in my signature, BUT I do think this ironic bit of text is hilarious:

"lying saleswomen" as if this is unusual.

Don't believe bollweevil, people. I am the girl he spoke to at the Apple Store, and he fabricated at least 90% of the story.

What really happened is he brought his son in the store, who was a total pain in the butt, and tried to ask me a ton of MobileMe questions. It was difficult to stop his son from knocking things over and answering the ridiculous questions ("can my wife spy on my emails? "does MobileMe also give me an internet connection?").

When his son pooped on our floor and smeared a bit on an iMac, we had to kick him out. I understand him being upset about that, and possibly recalling the events different because of his embarrassment, but please be fair - I am a great worker and try very hard to earn what little money I receive.

This thread should be retitled, really. Or deleted - the saleswoman was misinformed. It happens all the time; as said above, not everybody lives and breathes Apple, and even those that do get it wrong sometimes.

We're all only human.
