A main folder randomly deleted itself?

Hi,
I've been googling all day, but I just can't find something that works! My problem is that one of my folders, it was on the desktop, randomly deleted itself.
I am 100% positive I didn't delete it myself, and the memory used on that folder still reflects on the available space on the computer. I don't remember installing anything
these past few days that might've caused this problem. If any of you could help, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Specs:
Macbook Air 13", Mountain Lion 10.8.2,
128GB/4GB Ram

try opening a window, go to the desktop in that window, see if it's there. or try rebooting...
