I was about to say Office 2004:Mac is pretty rock solid I havent had it crash yet or glitch out on me or anything.. that being said why in your right mind would you want to be so MS free that you'd have to go with a substandard ala free version of Office? unless *gasps* you dont have people sending you .doc files or using them.

To echo what others have said, MS Office is a solid product and while it may have worthy competitors, they just aren't up to par with MS Office. I'm not saying that this doesn't have anything to do with MS "holding you by the balls" as was so eloquently put earlier as I'm sure it does but that doesn't change the fact that it is a solid application that outperforms the rest.

If you're not interested in MS getting any of your money, have you considered buying it used? Then it will likely be cheaper as well. Open/Neo Office are good at what they do but not nearly as good as MS Office.

I agree 100% with that vniow. Go with M$ Office (used if possible) it is a "necessary evil".
