I am working on a page for my website and am trying something that I haven't tried before. The page is written in ASP classic and essentially what I am trying to do is have an image of a number chart. It will have numbers between 0 and 100. I then want to have a vertical line go back and forth across the image eventually stopping at a number returned to me from a function (I know how to get the number returned to me.) Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not understanding how the vertical line works with the number chart. Can you show a quick animation drawing ( a simple sketch will do ) with frame[0], frame[1], frame[2] just so we get an idea of how you want the animation to display.

You could always using a JS chart library, I'm sure the plethora of libs out there will offer some form of solution. Here's a few of the popular ones (most tutorials and best documented) and it's trivial to configure them to your needs; just read the documentation they provide.

    https://d3js.org/
    http://www.highcharts.com/
    http://www.fusioncharts.com/

i've worked with these 3 and they offer great support for making them as interactive as you need. There are other charting libraries like I mentioned above, the top ones will have more community examples and tutorials to get going in the direction you need. Charting JS libs may be overkill for your needs but will at least give you a great platform to work with.
