Hello all,

After a recent trip to the local Mac store I asked for advice about buying a modest Mac primarily for using CS2, maybe CS4 later. I was told that a new Mini Mac or iMac would be sufficient.

Has anyone had a similar experience of using said computer and software and if so how did it work out for you?

Thanks,
Phil

Any current or past Mac is capable of running CS2 (it was released in 2005 anyway), and also any Mac is capable of running CS4.

What specific programs do you use?

AE will profit from a dedicated graphic card for example.

And CS2 was still using the PPC codebase, thus it needs Rosetta to run on an Intel Mac.

CS3 became the Universal version which could run on PPC and Intel machines without Rosetta.
