Hi, guys,

I think this is the right place for a newbie to learn about how to set up a home recording studio with iMac. I need to learn everything from the very beginning - start with A, B, C.... 😉

Wish you all have a Happy Good Friday!!!

What is your budget?

Any history with certain software that you want to use?

Or you can just burn your money with a Digidesign ICON system with PTHD.

this is waaay too big a topic. you have to narrow down what you want to do. record yourself? others? what kinds of music? tracking and mixing? how many tracks do you expect to record at once? what kind of results are you looking to get: amateur or professional? as asked, what's your budget?

and: do you have any idea what you're doing? if not, can you articulate what kinds of skills you hope to develop?

Thank you for your tips. What I already have is a new iMac...

Thank you guys for your replay...

Yeah, I did buy a iMac with 4GB memory and 500 GB HD... And I got GarageBand with it as you know. I did some research for other gears and may go with Duet and a Blue condenser mic (about $299.00). May be I'll get a reflexion filter for vocal recording, that'll be the main thing I'll do for the beginning... Yeah, I almost for get that I do have a Yamaha Keyboard with MIDI output (that costed me about $800.00 three years ago)...

I think I'll be able to record some thing after I get Duet and the mic...

I'll try to come here as often as I could - Normally, I only could at weekends...

Thank you again, all friends who try to help me!!!

Have fun!!!

I may need to get a Headphone before go with monitor...

Another thing I may need is a headphone before I go with monitor....

Right?

Then, I'll need to learn how to master GarageBand and Mic Placement....
