No need for TB. It's only slightly restricted by USB 2 during a sequential copy or ripping a movie. There was a review of odd drives on tomshardware and they had drives with USB 2, FireWire 800 and esata interfaces. Full speed was achieved on fw and esata, but it's only a little bit more than what USB 2 can do.
