This is exactly my view on the iPad, and I am sure many other people's view. If it is actually £300 in the UK, I might think about it, but I can only presume that it will not be that price and be much more expensive.

I, like many were really looking forward to having a great multi-touch computer to use OS X on, and I mean the proper version. Disappointing really...:(

How could it ever be £300? It's $499. And that's before tax. So in reality the current "fair" UK price would be £348.69 including VAT at 17.5%. Expect it to cost £350.

Ah right well sorry for the trouble - I kinda guessed it would have been posted. Sorry mods:eek:

Also I didnt really mean £300, it was an example. But I still dont think its going to be less than £400, in my opinion. If it is, then good.

Well it's clear that the main reason Apple have not announced UK prices up front is the volatility in the £/$ rate right now. They could announce prices now that look stupid by the time it ships. If the £ gains agains the $ then I think a sub £400 is guaranteed. Even at the current rate I would like to think it'll be less than £400 as Apple appear to be wanting to push this as a consumer devices and price is key to that.
