reading a lot negatives and complaints so i myself can say my install went flawless, no data was erased, and i'm enjoying it. i like the new color, the new settings setup, panoramic is awesome. maps wise idk yet, haven't used it so cant say

definitely need to read up on all the new features though

iOS 6 is an O.K OS. I was kind of hoping they would've added multi select for contacts, but they didn't add it which was a bit upsetting since I use iCloud often and I don't want my parents or my brothers contacts syncing towards me, since the iCloud account I have also has MY contacts as well. A little bit upsetting, but I hope they add it in the near future.

One of the fast & easy updates for me only problem I'm hearing is the Maps but I'm sure Apple will improve this with time...Happy camper here. :):apple:

i dont even use icloud so anything issue with it doesnt affect me

maps for me is working fine, no issues yet

Love the new SIRI on my iPad! I can't upgrade my iPhone4S as it is jailbroken, but I can tell you, compared to what SIRI was/is on that, it is so much more fun and lively on the iPad now.

Certainly not worth starting a thread over, so am grateful this positive IOS 6 thread exists.

hows the performance? been wondering what it'd be like on a 3gs, still surprised it can handle it
About the same as iOS 5 is my view on it. Not too bad, but it clearly shows its age as it lags every now and then.

It was alright for my iPhone 4...

Bumper there isn't Panorama, FaceTime 3G for iPhone 4.

Also I wanted the iPad's Clock app for the iPhone and it to be a live icon along with the weather app.

Everything else was good.

I am absolutely in love with the update--especially paired with the OS X 10.8.2 update today. The iCloud tab syncing is fantastic. Really cool to have all the websites I'm looking at on my iPhone, iPad and Mac right in one place.

yea way too much negative ios6 comments flooding this forum already

really liking the option to not take a call and send a message at the same time, all the new emoji's are just hilarious!, the new sharing options with pictures and links is really cool and simple

got a lot of messing around to do now :D

I went to http://browsermark.rightware.com and tested the performance on my iPhone 4.

This was my test from iOS 5: (https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/13535478/)

This is running IOS 6.

thats great. good to see the performance increase

Bottom line-- Better than the previous version....and will only get better w/updates and further integration. Jesus folks...it was only 10 years ago most of us didn't even have a phone.

Thanks for the thread, all the whining was starting to get to me.

So far I'm pretty happy. My 4S feels a bit faster, and some of the little graphics are a cute touch. And so far I'm actually pretty happy with the map app. I just hope that we can add POIs.

Best part of iOS 6. Fixed calendar day labels!

The first thing I changed was the alert tone for new mails. Too any iPhone in company these days. You never know who got a mail; sounds all the same ... Now mine has a little bell.
(And yes, I know, I could have it before with JB, but I don't).

amazing release

specially full-screen in safari

Just a shame it doesn't work in portrait...

Oh wait, positive thread...

I'm loving the Siri improvements! Especially cinema times!

You could change that in iOS 5...

I'm fairly happy with IOS 6 so far. I think the maps is a huge improvement, at least in the US. My house is actually correctly located, unlike with Google maps. Siri integration is better. My 4S battery is certainly draining quickly on day 1, but I suspect it may have something to do with recalibrating the battery or some such....time will tell.

I have high hopes for Passbook, although I don't see anything useful in there yet.

I'm an avid photographer, so the panorama feature is AWESOME! It works great! I've deleted the two 3rd party apps as they were not nearly as good.

My 4s gets a score of 104818 running IOS 6.
My iPad 3 scored 99052 on IOS 5 (IOS 6 test later tonight)

I frigging love shared photo streams, by far my favourite new feature :D

Really like this update aside from the maps, which I won't grumble about in this thread.

iMessage seems to be more reliable at delivering messages too.

Love all the extra emojis we can use.

Like the new store designs.

Like that you can pull to refresh email.

The new sharing features are great too.

Quite impressed with the update overall.
