I just refer to mine and "My Apple" unless of course there is an Apple fan in the room then is "My MacBook Pro".

But as other have said, it's a name, get over it.

Oh wow I was just kidding. I just wanted to hear some interesting names, such as...JesusBook Pro. I'm fine with the name MBP, although I did prefer Powerbook. As for mine, I'll call it...Lisa.

The iMac Portable

That's pretty much what it is. :D

Of course the original iBook was touted as "a portable iMac" And with the MacBook being it's replacement, that names pretty much taken. You could call it "The Mac Pro Portable." Then again, that has the word "Mac" in it which the OP seems to be against, since he doesn't seem to have a problem with the words of "book" or "pro".

PowerBook Pro, maybe?

"The most excellent, non-bogus mac machine that in almost no way resembles a book, but does let you act like a pro sometimes when using most awesome programs that run on it so well" - or Tmenbmmtianwrabbdlyalapswumaptroisw for short.

PowerBook is probably one of the best computer names ever. It was created by Lexicon Branding, who also coined BlackBerry, OnStar, Febreeze, and Pentium. Yet they also coined "Zune".

Sounds like the best suggestion to me. Good alternative name while still letting people have some idea what you are talking about.

IntelBook is the worst. The name PowerBook predates Apple's use of PowerPC processors (the original two PowerBook models came with either 68000 or 68030 processors). It was coincidence that Apple and Motorola would later team up with IBM to create a derivative processor based on their POWER processor line.

It was a bit odd when they first released it, but it grew on me. Change is good.
