A question about the iPhone.

I'm going to get an iPhone soon, and I was wondering what are these sensors for, near the speaker.

They turn the display off when you hold the phone beside your ear take a call.

And they automatically adjust the screen brightness depending on the lighting level of the room/place you're in.

If you are gonna get a case for the iphone, make sure it doesn't cover the sensors
