A Question re using ACD with iMac

Should I expect to notice any drop off in overall performance if my 2.8GHZ iMac is also running an ACD 23". I'll have 4GB RAM soon.

I'm assuming I won't notice any performance issues but have no experience at all with using an additional externall monitor, so thought it best thast I ask those in the know!!
