I am using a 2018 MBP with Safari 12.0.3. I have a general info folder located on the right side of the Dock. Today I was using info from the folder when a ?mark appeared on the folder (see image).

How do I get rid of the questionmark that has now locked the folder?

Dock icons are aliases or shortcuts to the original item which lives somewhere else. The question mark probably means that the dock folder has lost track of where the original is located. Was the original folder moved? Was it located on a removable drive that got removed? Find the original folder. Then trash the problem dock folder icon and replace it by dragging the original folder into the dock. A new alias will be created in the dock leaving the original folder where it was.

Thanks for the response! I looked around per your suggestions, then ended up moving the folder out of the dock and deleting it. I then used Time Machine to restore the info and simply placed it on the desktop in individual folders...a bit messy, but the info I want is there.

Thanks again.
