A real Pain of a problem

Hi All
First post so here goes.
Have a Mac Book Intel based that stopped half way through a fresh install! But now every time I put the first disk in a press C to get it to boot form disk it ejects the disk😕 I have even replaced the hard drive with another one.
Any Ideas

You don't say which version of OSX? SL? Lion?, but plenty of information here:

Cd drive it was! lucky that I had a spare laptop which I built the hard drive in and swapped them over.
