I had the 12.9 for about a week when it came out, and ended up decided it too large and sent it back, I had a second look at one yesterday at Best buy and wow, it is big but man does that screen look gorgeous and the experience with Videos and Magazines is stellar. I might have been too dismissive of it, if the pro in the spring gets the 9.7 inch advances in true tone, and other features I'm going to have to give it a serious look again.

I would be really surprised if it didn't.

I have mixed feelings about mine. The large screen is glorious, but it sure isn't handy like the Mini. And iOS doesn't make good use of all that space. For example the Control Center has multiple shelves you have to swipe sideways too. That makes sense on a little phone, but not on and iPad, and definitely not on a 12.9" iPad.

I agree they need to optomize the space on the larger screen or allow launchers to allow it, but once you are in the apps it certainly is pretty. I would like to see them adress the space for the next iteration

It took me about 2 weeks of every day use to get accustomed to the size. On the first day, I thought it was as large as the windshield on my wife's Mini Cooper and able to shield a small town from the sun. But as each day went by, it felt smaller than the day before.

Yes, there are some situation where it simply feels to large to use, but those are few and maybe I'll pick up a 7.9 Mini Pro when it is released.

One thing that has helped with the weight and size is to NOT use a case. A thin clear film on the back to improve grip and protect against scratches, and switching between a Smart Cover and the Smart Keyboard make it quite thin and light.

Watching videos and reading magazines are indeed a wonderful experience. The larger screen is also nice for writing/drawing. Split window is terrific.

The widget screen looks great on it and has given me a peek at what an iOS screen optimized for the 12.9 iPP can look like.
