A Streaming Setting Question

I’m watching The Boys on Amazon Prime via my Roku Device. There are portions of this story where a foreign language is spoken and during that time captions appear, but those captions are in a foreign language. I can’t figure out how to make those captions be in English. The Amazon App does not appear to have caption settings, and the caption settings on the Roku device are either on or off.

Of interest I usually watch Prime Video on my Apple TV device, so I’m going to continue by switching over to that and see if it is any better.

I discovered that the issue I mentioned does not occur on AppleTV. During the time when a foreign language or sign language is spoken, sub captions show up as they should, but honestly I have no idea what setting controls this versus sub captions on all the time or turned off all the time.

I have not. The issue on Roku is that I only want subtititles when they are speaking a foreign language, not all the time, and in the case of Roku, the captioned language was not English. I checked the Roku settings and the sub-caption is set to English, but if I turn on sub captions, it’s on all the time, which I don’t want. This issue is just happening with Prime Video, on Roku, so I have the easy answer.
