Thank you for sharing. I read many reviews, and this one, I can say, is the best one yet. Not because it's more positive (and yes there are a few negative points too), but I think the author get what the smartwatch is in general (perhaps because he has been using Pebble for longer time). No irrelevant comments on the purpose of such devices. Everything is purely about AppleWatch.

Best review I've read yet, by far. It might be one of the best reviews I've read for pretty much anything, let alone the new watch. I got a great feel for it after reading this.

Impressive.

Thanks for sharing!

Agreed. Top-notch review. I got a real sense of wearing a device. It's a prospective buyer's review, and one that should be be respected far more than the dreck The Verge put out.

Speaking of, I wonder why all the pictures in his review showed him wearing it on his right arm, but still in the orientation for left hand wearing.

I also wish he had elaborated on the taps he felt while navigating. Has any reviewer detailed what each direction feels like? He seems to not really be able to tell taps apart.

He said he just got use to wearing it that way. I just wanna be able to use the crown without reaching over the face.

Why is that nonslanted reviews are so rare. Other journalists should be grounded like Lance. Nilay's was so skewed it was irritating. It's like he had an agenda, and if he tells that "force touch" joke again, I'm gonna have to slap somebody.

Tech writers are under the same marching orders as any other newspaper/magazine/broadcast/web writers: Make it sensational, and it sells. If it bleeds, it leads. Making a review fair and balanced is boring stuff and won't often get cross linked.

So we get things like the Verge reviews and anything on FoxNews. If you want facts and truths, look elsewhere.

Totally agree. I review things as a hobby, and was a professional writer for over eight years. This one impressed me.

The guy is good. Really good.

Agree as well, what a great useful review. Thanks for sharing, haven't seen that one yet.

Nobody should be surprised that The Verge review was what it was. If you ever listen to their podcast you'll see that they're so defensive of being called Apple fan boys that they're bordering the realm of paranoia. All they ever do when it comes to Apple gear is gripe about the negatives and give no credit for the positives. I'm surprised Apple even gives them review units to be honest.

I don't know what it is, but it seems like the harshest reviews all came from people who had something to do with Engadget or The Verge (which was founded by former Engadget editors) at some point in time. Patel, Joanna Stern, and Josh Tapolsky all have ties to one of both of those publications and their reviews were the most severe. They always seem to form an opinion of a device within the first 30 minutes of using it, and then nothing afterward can sway them otherwise.
