A way to use iPhone on Bluetooth?

I am in Japan, using my iPhone where I have wireless, which is usually nowhere. (Japanese are cheapskates, you can't get even one open wifi in Akihabara!) Anyway, my question is, is there no way at all to use Bluetooth on the iPhone, i.e. the iPhone connecting to my other (Japanese) BT phone like my Mac can?

Bluetooth is only for headsets, not for syncing or getting online like other phones, at least not yet....
