I also think the hype for the iPhone X will die out quickly, meaning those who wants to get it already know they will get it, they've been waiting for it, creating a high demand at first, but will quickly lower.

iPhone X is not the type of walk-in and buy type of phone because of its cost and a few things users might find it deal-breaker
this is more likely a reportage of what you sense around these parts of the internet.

but as far as the general population is concerned... i'd be willing to bet far more iPhone X will be sold after the initial wave/hype..

an example using numbers from thin air-- 30 million sold in first two months... 100million sold in total.

Great question but we don’t know, but...
The iPhone X preorders will possible be delivered in same ways as the TB MacBook Pro 2016, because of limitation.
I remember countries like Germany, Asia, UK and America were prioritize to get their shipments a week before all around the world, so they may do the same.
