Not photoshop at all....

I've been winding up the untechy guy in the office all week and really struggling to keep a straight face when he tells me his phone had a message saying it was doing a system scan.

Basically, exactly as Moi un Mouton says, just type *gothen the message (no space between the *go and the first letter of the message and it works..

Actually - I think I'll go and wind him up just now again....:D

We have 5 iPhone users in the office i work in so i was having fun at their expense yesterday :)

Works a treat ... blackberry pearls can't receive them tho ... comes up as a normal message

at&t will sometimes send out Flash SMS messages when they update something on your account (like voice mail) and want you to restart the phone. I've had it happen a few times, but they usually have two buttons: Ignore & Shutdown.

is there anything in the SDK?

apparently there is an undocumented SMS Framework in the sdk? (link)
can anyone confirm this?
if so, and it can support AT commands, it really wouldn't be all that hard to write a FlashSMS app...

I also had this type of message pop up... But from someone I don't know, someone at a place I've just started working :S I was a bit worried by the second message asking me about some of the photos on my iPhone and saying "I own your iPhone now"

Anyone care to shed some light on this intrusion? I'd like to know how and who!

Cheers,
-Cyph

All I would need to do that is your mobile number.

I sent April fool Flash SMS messages to a couple of my friends with iPhones, they still don't know it was me. It's easy to send a message like "I'm watching you, I know which websites you're surfing, I'll be in touch" or anything you want.

Unless they gave you evidence that they actually have accessed the photos on your phone, my advice would be don't worry about it unless it continues.
