I agree with pretty much everything said here. I would also like to add:
1. autofocus and flash to the camera
2.GPS, with built in maps so you can access the GPS even if you don't have network connection.
And as for SD card slot, I don't know why but Apple doesn't put it in any of their computers...which is really surprising. But that would be great even with 16GB of storage its nice to be able to swap out different cards with different files on them.

5. copy/cut and paste
6. Removable battery & improved battery life
7. voice recorder
8. For the Camera: LED flash, auto focus, image stabilization, & Video Capability (30 fps)
9. FM radio
More Advanced features:
10. Integrated Flash and Java support
11. PDF Reader
12. Playlist syncing
13. To-do list syncing
14. 32 GB of storage
15. camera upgrade to 5 MP
16. 2 MP front cam for video chat with auto focus and image stabilization
17. Stereo Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and NFC
18. Sharing of files/ringtones/contacts through Bluetooth
19. Send contacts via SMS
20. GPS with integrated maps and software
21. Wireless N capability
22. AMOLED screens with Higher resolution
23. 3rd party apps allowed to run in the background
Form Factor:
24. 25 mm shorter in size while keeping same screen size
25. 2.5 mm thinner
for $500 with a 2 year contract we should be able to get most of these features added on.

As well as the comprehensive lists above there is one simple thing which has bugged me from day one and must be extremely simple to fix... the ability to forward an sms
It so so frustrating to receive a message and have to re-write the whole thing in order to send the message to someone else!!

Thats what I miss about my BB, could forward texts as emails or texts & vice versa, was very useful at times
Yeah I agree with that...that would also be fixed with copy&paste. So either one of those features would be nice.
It would be nice, but it seems unlikely, since none of the iPods has a self-service battery. In fact, the Mac Pro is really the only product Apple makes with any notable level of user-serviceable or upgradeable parts (at least as intended by Apple), so it doesn't seem to be a high priority in their designs.
